What we do

We describe our investment approach as both controlled and bespoke to ensure that portfolios are managed consistently within a robust investment framework. This helps us control the level of risk and ensures that portfolios are managed according to clients' individual expectations. Financial markets are inherently dynamic and rarely remain constant for any length of time. Therefore, it is very important that we retain flexibility to adjust portfolios to best take advantage of the market environment at any given point. To cater for prevailing market conditions, the investment framework requires 'tactical' asset allocations to be set regularly, around which we operate. These decisions are made by our Asset Allocation Committee which meets monthly (or more frequently if required) and is comprised of specialists drawn from across Brewin Dolphin including experienced investment managers as well as economists and analysts from our Research Team. Our extensive and award-winning research resources support our investment managers in selecting the most suitable investments for client portfolios. The breadth and depth of our research coverage enables us to search across the market and to give clients the reassurance that we are making fully informed decisions on their behalf.
