Who we are
Close Brothers Asset Management (“CBAM”), a division of Close Brothers Group (“CBG”), has been dedicated to enhancing, preserving and managing personal wealth for over 40 years. CBAM provides multi-asset investment management to private clients, financial advisers, trustees, family offices and charities.
We are part of the Close Brothers Group, a leading UK FTSE 250 merchant banking group providing lending, deposit taking, investment management services and securities trading. Established in 1878, our traditional values are based on service and integrity, which continue to be relevant today. We are client centred in everything we do.
What we do
Central to our wealth management proposition is our institutional–quality investment capability. We believe consistent long-term performance is best derived from global, multi-asset class portfolios. Every investor, irrespective of the amount they invest, benefits from the same institutionally disciplined investment expertise, active management and deep fundamental research. Our experienced team of investment managers and in-house research team work together to source the best ideas within each asset class and across different geographies. The investment managers are able to use these investment ideas as the foundation for your investment solution, tailoring them to meet the differing requirements of our diverse client base and investment offerings.

Our core proposition is a range of multi-asset class, multi-risk investment solutions:
Close Discretionary Management Service: segregated portfolios for clients, investing directly and through third party funds and passive instruments. Minimum investment: £100,000
Close Bespoke Discretionary Management Service: our discretionary management service can be tailored to meet the needs of private clients, trusts, family offices and charities. Minimum investment: £1 million
Close Socially Responsible Investment Service: segregated portfolios for clients, investing directly and through third party funds that meet the portfolio philosophy: to maximise long-term returns whilst contributing positively to wider social, environmental and economic issues. Minimum investment: £100,000
Close Managed Portfolio Service: segregated portfolios for clients that invest in third party funds. Minimum investment £30,000
Close Inheritance Tax Service: specialist discretionary investment service investing in BPR qualifying assets. Minimum investment £50,000.
In addition, we offer the Close Discretionary Funds which includes funds of direct investments, funds of funds and funds of passive instruments. Minimum investment £1,000.
The CBAM investment team is comprised of c70 investment professionals -headed up by our CIO, Nancy Curtin – and includes investment managers and an institutional-quality research capability covering global equities, fixed income and credit, alternatives, external managers and passive security selection.
