What we do

At RBC Wealth Management, our clients enjoy personal service and customised solutions – supported by local teams and a

global network of trusted professionals.

We believe in the merits of fully understanding the investment objectives of every client and structure the optimal  solution appropriate to their risk tolerance and individual preferences.

Every step of the way, we help you make informed decisions based on your needs, our insights and analysis of factors and trends.

Our investment philosophy guides us in the development of the strategies we recommend and is based on the following four beliefs:

Long-term strategic asset allocation: strategic asset allocation is expected to deliver 70% of a portfolio's long-term returns, so we take a disciplined, robust approach that provides a strong core for client portfolios.

Risk budgeting and diversification: our long-standing principle of prudence and discipline has made us one of the

strongest banks in the world and we manage client portfolios with the same discipline and care. Risk is managed with strict processes and tools, as well as effective diversification to avoid taking unnecessary risk.

Active rebalancing: rebalancing is an active and ongoing process that keeps client portfolios aligned with their strategies. Investment decisions are driven by developments in the market and are taken by our British Isles Investment Committee.

Tactical asset allocation: we have investment specialists across all the major financial markets and access to top independent research, bringing a powerful combination of understanding and insight to drive client portfolios. Financial markets are not static, therefore we make active shifts in our portfolios to adapt to changes in market and economic conditions.

We are committed to:

  • Building portfolios that strike the right balance between preserving capital, generating income and pursuing growth
  • Creating an appropriate structure for every client portfolio, selecting from both traditional and alternative investment areas
  • Combining rigorous analysis and disciplined execution with continuous learning
  • Providing access to worldwide, world-class investment capabilities
  • Using the best combination of investment approaches given a client's personal goals
  • Providing reliable information, meaningful communications and sound investing practices

What sets us apart?

We actively manage clients’ portfolios to ensure they are adequately positioned to take advantage of all stages in the business cycle and incorporate creative and innovative solutions.

We have added a systematic trading strategy that generates returns from equity intraday volatility. Instead of being an obstacle, volatile markets provide a return opportunity to our clients. Whilst our hedging strategies help our clients’ portfolios weather any market correction.

We are constantly looking at longer term, secular trends that will have a profound impact on the economy, environment and technology. In response to this, we have added a strategy that creates positive social and environmental impact by investing in companies providing solutions to resource scarcity and environmental pollution.

We have a strategy that uses a range of technologies including big data and machine learning to systematically select stocks. The strategy applies investment insights with cutting-edge technology to seek returns over and above generic factors such as value, momentum and carry.
